By M. A. Fulmar
You have stretch marks on several areas of your body, and you would like nothing better than to see them disappear. Since you first noticed your stretch marks, you have become self-conscious about wearing bathing suits and shorts. The time has come for you to figure out ways to reduce your stretch marks.
About Reducing Stretch Marks
Before you try to reduce your stretch marks, you must first understand how you got them. Stretch marks are caused when the skin is extended beyond its flexibility limits. There are many ways that a person can get stretch marks, and not just from pregnancy.
For example, if a person starts exercising quite frequently by lifting weights, this can cause stretch marks. If a person is going through puberty and grows quite quickly, stretch marks can appear. Also, stretch marks can appear if a person gains weight very quickly.
Stretch marks most commonly appear on the stomach or on the sides of the hips, just above the thighs. However, they can also appear on the sides of breasts, on upper arms, and behind the knees.
The first way that you can reduce stretch marks is to apply moisturizing lotion daily. Stretch marks are skin tissues that need to heal themselves, and there are many different kinds of lotions that you can choose from that will effectively help to reduce your stretch marks.
If you exercise frequently, be sure you don't overdo it, and that is a common way that people can get stretch marks. Eat healthy food and keep your weight and a consistent level. All of these things can really help to reduce the chances of stretch marks appearing.
One thing you should not do is try to reduce your stretch marks by going to a tanning salon. The amount of UVB rays that are absorbed by your skin can be dangerous, and while your stretch marks can be reduced, you can also get skin cancer from tanning.
Another way that you can reduce stretch marks is to have cosmetic surgery. This should only be done is nothing else has worked, because it can often be an expensive cosmetic procedure. Stretch marks are very unsightly, and no one wants to get, but the truth is that many people do. However, with the proper care, you are sure to be able to reduce your stretch marks.
