Relaxation Travels With Portable Swimming Pool
By Linda Rogers

No matter where you go, or even the time of year, you can take the fun and relaxation of swimming with you with a portable swimming pool. Although out of practicality they may not be extremely large, the portability of these units allows you to enjoy the water no matter where you are.

Quick and easy break down and set up makes the portable swimming pool ideal for when you travel to temporary assignments or even take vacations to areas where swimming availability is questionable. Just pack it up, take it with you and put it back together and you are ready to get back into the swim of things.

Many portable swimming pools are soft side construction with either metal or PVC braces with stakes to hold them temporarily into the ground they are also designed for portability and not made for permanent installation. Many also have optional filtering systems available as well as other options such as ladders and lifeguard stands. They can also be used for parties where a pool is desired for a day or two.

Travel With Everything But The Filling

Filling with water is generally available by contacting a water hauling company experienced in filling pools and often a portable swimming pool may be available for rent on a short term basis. They also come in a variety of sizes, from a two-foot deep 63-inch by 93-inch pool up to a 24-foot diameter, 38-inches deep. While most are soft-sided there are a few portable swimming pool models with metal sides that utilize a liner.

You can even get a rectangular soft side pool 18-foot by 30-feet that is 52-inches deep with a powder-treated steel frame for under $3,000, not including water and other options, which you can put in your yard during the swimming season and take down and store during the winter months.

A portable swimming pool is not designed for permanent installation, or even to be set up and left past its seasonal use and many will suffer damage if left standing throughout the winter. They are ideal as a less-expensive alternative to having a swimming pool and will knock down for convenient storage when not it use.

When used with optional features such as a filtering system, ladders, skimmers and routine maintenance a portable swimming pool can withstand many years of being stored and used without losing your investment.
