Swimming Pool Games Of All Ages
By Linda Rogers

Swimming, whether used for exercise, therapy, sport, or any kind of reason, should always be combined with a little fun. The best way of adding fun and excitement to a normal day is by organizing swimming pool games for your kids, friends or family.

While there are swimming pool games specially designed for water, various land games like volleyball, tag, Simon says, football or other games that are normally played on land can also be the next favorite swimming pool game among your family and friends.

If you're coaching a group of swimmers for a competition or for swimming lessons, give them a break or start your lesson with your chosen swimming pool games. This way, their energy and excitement level increases, giving them more enthusiasm to work their routine, skills and swimming talents.

Different Kinds Of Swimming Pool Games

If you organized a swimming party for your kids or friends, scheduled training for your swimming team, or simply want to spend a laidback afternoon with your family, swimming pool games can liven up a bored or stressed crowd.

While you can invent your own swimming pool games, there are hundreds of other swimming pool games that remain classic, traditional and fun. You could even categorize the games according to difficulty level (easy, medium or hard) to accommodate kids or professional swimmers.

The most traditional swimming pool games are diving games. Whether you are grouped in 5s, 10s or 20s, a diving game can be a lot of fun. Simply retrieve a certain item, such as coins, keys or other weighted objects under water. The first person to retrieve the item is the winner.

For kids, you could hire a lifeguard to teach them basic life saving skills through swimming pool games. This way, not only can your children enjoy their time at the pool, they could also learn different techniques in saving lives when accidents occur.

For professional swimmers, you can add swimming pool games, such as Marco polo, sharks or any game of tag, Simon Says or racing games, before practice. This way, you get your blood pumped up for an intense training.

Of course, if your swimming party is filled with children or people who cannot swim well, make sure that someone responsible is watching over the swimming pool games. Without proper supervision, a pool game could turn out to be a disaster. Ensure safety and enjoy an afternoon filled with exercise and laughter.
