Commercial Water Purifier Keeps Foods Safe
By Tony Cunningham
The next time you visit the grocery store and pass by the produce section, check out the wet rack, where water is sprayed periodically on the produce to help keep it fresh. If the nozzles from which the water is sprayed appear to be clean, then the store has a commercial water purifier that is working correctly.
One of the requirements of every business that sells fresh produce, ready-to-eat foods or processes food products for human consumption is to have a commercial water purifier on the premises to minimize the chance of their customers becoming ill due to the foods coming in contact with contaminated water.
Restaurants and many other businesses offering food to the public also has the same requirement of having a commercial water purifier, especially when equipped with coffee makers that are connected directly to the water supply, or soda machines that mix the soda and syrup and are connected directly to the water line. Hospitals, doctor's offices and other health care centers also need a source of guaranteed purified water and instead of depending on their water supplier will often install a commercial water purifier.
Keeping Public Trust and Health Is Important
Numerous times you may have heard about people getting sick from eating contaminated fresh produce or other foods. In some instances proper cleaning techniques may have been used, but further investigation revealed there was no commercial water purifier hooked onto the water supply and the items were washed in contaminated water.
Businesses that sell bottled water, especially for water coolers, usually have their water pass through a commercial water purifier to ensure the safety of their customers. Those who package water in portable bottles of 16-ounce or larger also will use a commercial water purifier to insure the safety and health of their customers.
Typically, every type of business who offers water to drink uses water to mix with any type of drink or uses water in the process of food to eat will benefit from having a commercial water purifier. These units, many utilize ultraviolet light for the purification process, also install a commercial filtering unit to filter the water before it enters the commercial water purifier to extend the life of the purifier and to provide added care for their customers. It is not unusual for a business to be forced to close, due to a loss of reputation, if just one customer becomes ill.
