It seems these days that many couples are marrying just to get divorced a short time later. While this is becoming more common, there are still couple that stay together for many years. You know a couple that is going to be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, and you want to be sure that you get them the right 50th wedding anniversary gifts. Thus, you need some 50th wedding anniversary gift ideas.

If you have been to another 50th wedding anniversary celebration, you already have some of an idea of what you might get. However, if the couple that is going to be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary is the only couple that you have known that long, of course you will probably be at a loss as to what 50th wedding anniversary gifts you should purchase.

Now, keep in mind that you do not necessarily have to purchase 50th wedding anniversary gifts. If, for example, you are related to the couple, you already have what will be needed to create a wonderful 50th wedding anniversary gift, and that is a 50th wedding anniversary gift in the form of a scrapbook.

Of course, it will need to be a surprise. So, you will have to get a hold of photo albums that feature them as a couple from their wedding photos onwards. Ask other family members to help you with this if possible. Take the pictures, and copy them at a local copy store, or scan them into your computer. Cut them into interesting designs, and include romantic sayings.

If you only know the couple casually, but are still invited to their anniversary celebration, consider getting them a gift certificate to a fancy restaurant for their 50th wedding anniversary gift. Ask mutual friends what their restaurant preferences are. As for the amount you choose for the gift certificate, that will have to do with the restaurant. However, it should at least be a hundred dollars.

If you are close friends with the couple, think about the things that each of them enjoy and get a 50th anniversary wedding gift in the form of a gift basket.
