By Barbara Kelly

The people the bride and groom should buy for by custom, besides each other, are the bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girl, ring bearer, and parents of both the bride and groom. The wedding attendant gifts are usually given at the rehearsal dinner, and many people like to personalize the gifts with engraving or by a person's special interest.

The bride's wedding attendant gifts to her bridesmaids can be the easiest to buy for because jewelry is the most common gift to give and can be coordinated with the bridesmaid's attire for the wedding, to add and extra special touch, and can be the same for each woman to further coordinate them. Other common gifts besides jewelry are jewelry boxes, business card holders, pink flasks, and even more unique gifts that can be personalized for each woman's individual taste and personality.

The most traditional wedding attendant gift for groomsmen is a flask; other popular gifts are cufflinks, personalized items, and tool kits. Some examples of personalized gifts are monogrammed bags, golf sets, tool kits, pocket knives that can be engraved and shaving kits. The bags are in all styles including duffle bags, briefcases, travel kits, picnic bags, and carry on luggage cases.

Do Not Forget Flower Girl, Ring Bearer

For the special little girl in the wedding, there are several gifts that can be given, which are as unique as she is. There is a darling book titled flower girl, which can explain her part in the wedding. Also there is jewelry, personalized back packs, personalized piggy banks, adorable artistic accessories, and special flower girl baskets to hold the petals she will lay at the bride's feet. Much of the jewelry for flower girls can be personalized with a name or monogram to make it extra special for the flower girl.

The ring bearer will also often need a special wedding attendant gift, a coin bank is a nice choice for most little boys and several styles can be engraved with the child's name or initials. Also, cufflinks and even yo-yo's which could also be engraved with the child's initials. To help the ring bearer understand his responsibilities, a book titled The Ring Bearer will help him understand what will happen on the wedding day.

Some of the most difficult wedding attendant gifts to buy for can be for the parents of both the bride and groom. The bride and grooms mothers may like jewelry, jewelry boxes, or monogrammed bags. Pearls are always traditional for a mother and to make it extra special for the mothers of the bride and groom Tahitian Pearls or colored freshwater pearls can make a special keepsake from the wedding day.

The fathers of the bride and groom will most traditionally receive cufflinks; other good choices are shaving kits, monogrammed golf sets, tool kits, engraved pocket knives, and even more, which can be personalized to each father's interest.
