Making a Homemade Wedding Invitation
By Barbara Kelly
With all of the money that is spent on weddings nowadays, something that is easily overlooked is the money that can be saved if you make a homemade wedding invitation. Usually, the wedding invitation is something that you order from somewhere, and you can get a printer to put on whatever you want to have on the wedding invitation. This is very easy because it allows for you to have a complete wedding invitation and as many copies as you need sent right to your home in plenty of time for you to get them out to the people that you want to invite. This is very important because it saves you time and energy. However, one thing that it does not save you is money.
Saving Money
In order to save money, you might want to consider making a homemade wedding invitation for yourself. These are very easy to do. You can find a site which will help you make a homemade wedding invitation online, or you can simply make one on your computer. All you will need is the information for the invitation, which you should already have.
In order to make sure that you use the right wording on your homemade wedding invitation, there are several things that you can try. First of all, look online or in wedding planning books to make sure that you are wording things correctly. Then, check with your fiancé and make sure that you are putting the right things onto the invitation. Then, you can either make up your invitation on the computer or you can use a template that you can find online in order to create your homemade wedding invitation.
Printing
After you have the homemade wedding invitation made, you can think about how you are going to print them out. You can probably print them cheaply on your own computer, because you can buy nice looking paper that isn't very expensive. Depending on how many invitations you need to print out, your printer ink is going to be the most expensive thing that you are putting up with.
In order to print your homemade wedding invitations a bit more cost effectively, you might want to consider taking them on a disk to a copy shop in your neighborhood and having them printed out. They will have a lot of paper for you to choose from, and they will fold and cut the invitations as needed in order to make them work for you. Even if you have to pay for these services, it will still end up costing you less than it would cost for you to buy invitations that would be sent to you.
