Wedding Bliss, Photography Stress- Choosing a Wedding Photography Package
By Andrew Kelly
There are so many details that surround the planning of your wedding. One of the hardest decisions is picking out the perfect photographer for your event. What style of photography are you aiming for? Do you want portraiture? What about snapshots? Do you want to pose for the pictures or do you want to have artistic real life movement shots? These are all very important to consider in order to pick out the perfect photographer for your special day.
But once you have all of that figured out, the real question comes in. Which wedding photography package do you choose? Which wedding photography package is the best deal? How many hours do you need this guy? How many pictures are “enough” pictures? This is when the real stress sets in.
Where to Start?
Before you have a panic attack, look at your event. Generally, the photographer will want to take pictures of the bride and bridal party about an hour before she walks down the aisle. They allot an entire hour so she's not rushed, and so that if there are out door pictures, the groom and other guests don't see the bride before she walks down the aisle. This is important when considering the amount of footage you want in your wedding photography package.
If your reception is booked for four hours, make sure your wedding photography package allots for at least four hours. This will include one hour before the event, the actual wedding, and the cake and the first few dances. Generally, that's about all you are anticipating. Make sure that you write down poses that you absolutely have to have; otherwise, you'll likely forget during all of the commotion. Don't forget to add that obligatory family photograph that you know Grandma is expecting to receive framed for Christmas.
When deciding on the perfect wedding photography package to suit your purpose, visualize the album. Look at mom and dads wedding album, and your sisters. Do you like the size of their pictures? Do you want them to all be 8 x 10's? What about a nice mix of 8x 10's and 5 x7's? There should be a wedding photography package that caters to your exact need in this area.
Now that you've taken care of the stressful aspects of the wedding, you can kick back and think of the more exciting details, like which song to dance with your dad to.
