There are creative ideas for wedding invitations which will be unique and may help to keep the cost down.

One such idea for wedding invitations is a picture of the wedding couple made into a post card with the invitation wording on the side or reverse of the picture. Stores that have photo developing often offer the post card option for pictures and many people use it for Christmas cards, birth announcements and other such events. This is a nice idea if there are many people on the invitation list who live a distance away and have not had the chance to meet one person of the wedding couple. This will help people to feel more connected to the wedding couple.

Another creative idea for wedding invitations is to print them on the home computer. With many advances in the computer and printer industry home printings can be easily done with a professional look. There are wedding invitation packages which have card stock with some design to it. The wording simply needs to be printed and the invitations are ready to go. These are nice because they come with some instructions which make it easier to complete for someone with limited computer experience. But, a person can buy card stock and envelopes and make the invitation entirely on their own. With word art and clip art, printing a nice wedding invitation is pretty simple.

A really nice idea for wedding invitations is a hand written, hand drawn invitation. While some people may not feel they are capable of doing this, there is nothing more special than this type of invitation. A person can take a course in calligraphy that will help them with writing a nice wedding invitation. And a basic art course can help a person be able to draw a simple flower or geometric design. Some people, with a little practice, can make this type of wedding invitation very easily. This is a nice way to make people feel personally invited to the wedding rather than just a part of the wedding list.
