Making your own wedding invitations is a very good idea, as it will save you quite a bit of money in the end, however there is also the option of simply purchasing your wedding invitations if you do not feel as though you are capable of making them on your own.

If you want to have someone else make the invitations for you, then you are still going to want to have at least a remote idea as to what you want the invitations to look like in the end, because after all you want them to be as personalized as possible and so you want to make sure that you and your partner's input is properly put into place.

However, as long as you go somewhere where there are qualified and experienced personnel, then you shouldn't have to worry about working too hard, and the finished product should come out great. However just make sure that you trust the people that you are working with, and also make sure that they listen to you and to your ideas, so that you are going to have them completed how you want, rather than them just doing what they feel like.

You may want to come up with a sort of rough draft as to what you want the invitations to be like, and then you can bring these in to wherever you go so that you can give them a better idea as to what it is that you are really looking for. If you go this route, then you should know that you are most likely going to be spending a bit of extra money, but it will certainly be worth it.
