The first thing a couple needs to do is to find the names of several photographers. This is easily done by looking on the internet or in the phone book but it is much wiser to get the names from people who have had experiences with the photographers. Wedding photography is a specialized type of photography and not just any photographer is qualified.

Once the names are acquired the couple needs to set up appointments to look at the work the photographer has already done, get price quotes and to see if they are available for the desired date. Also, it would be good to get the names of several references for the photographer. The couple needs to carefully examine all the information and choose the best wedding photographer available.

Contract

The photographer should offer a contract defining what the service provided will include. This contract needs to be carefully read. When dealing with a photography company sometimes there are several photographers available. The contract should specify who will be taking the pictures for the wedding. Another concern is making sure enough time is allotted for the wedding photography. No one wants the wedding photographer dictating the schedule of the wedding day.

Time

The photographer should allow enough time for the couple to proceed through the day as they desire. It is also important that the photographer know what type of pictures the couple wants. Taking the time in advance to select some types of pictures will ensure that the couple gets what they want.
