Wedding Programs Are a Wonderful Option
By Barbara Kelly
A wedding program is certainly not required, but these wedding programs are great options that all brides and grooms should consider for the wedding day. The wedding usually takes the better part of a day by the time the ceremony and reception come to a close. There are many people gathered, and some of these do not know everybody else there. They may only know one person out of hundreds. The groom's boss may be invited, but he may only know his employee. The boss may not know the bride, her parents or the parents of the groom. The groom will have many duties so he may not have the time to take care of his very important boss.
This is just an example, but it illustrates the practical purposes of a wedding program. The wedding program can provide information about the order and players in the ceremony. If readings are provided, the people performing are identified in a wedding program. The name of the official performing the ceremony can be in the wedding program. The order of the events can be listed in the wedding program so all of the guests know what is going to happen, and when those events will take place.
Wedding Programs Are Great Memory Keepers
A great wedding program will identify the important players of the day. There will probably be information about the bride and the groom. The bride's family knows everything they need to know, but those on the groom's side may be meeting this new addition to their family for the first time. The reverse is true as well. The music that plays during the ceremony and reception can be identified in a program. The guests will not have to ask anyone if they are interested in this or other information.
A wedding program will often contain a biography of the wedding party. This information will show the connection between the important people in the wedding. This is not a necessity, but it is very interesting to many that attend the wedding. The program will have detailed information about the day. These make great souvenirs because of all of this information. Years later people will be able to look back on this great day to renew their memories. The wedding program could be a glossy production produced by professionals or a simple pamphlet photocopied at the home computer. The presentation is not usually as important as the information inside.
