Wedding Toasts Come from the Heart
By Barbara Kelly

One of the most special occasions is a wedding where family and friends gather to witness the union of two people. The guests come from the vicinity, but often they also come from thousands of miles away for this special occasion. The bride and groom have taken the time and effort to find a wonderful place for the ceremony and the gathering afterward for food, drinks, family and friends. The ceremony is usually elegant and beautiful, but the reception is a time when the bridal party along with family and friends has a chance to socialize.

The reception usually has some great food and wonderful wine for all the guests. Some of the receptions are formal sit down dinners while others have a buffet. Wedding toasts are usually an important part of the wedding reception ritual. The bridal party sits at a special table with their invited guests facing them. Everyone listens to the music and dines happily, but they wait to hear the wedding toasts because they know that they will hear special words about the people just recently married. Most of the people at the reception are there because they like the bride and groom, and they usually wish them all the best. The wedding toasts will express those sentiments to all that are gathered for
the great occasion.

The Bride and Groom Remember the Wedding Toasts Forever

Wedding toasts vary from one wedding to another, but these speeches usually have some commonalities. The best man who is usually the groom's best friend often makes the most important of the wedding toasts. When this guy agrees to be the best man, he usually assumes that he will take care of the rings and make one of the wedding toasts. The best man might start thinking about this special speech right away. The wedding toasts will be remembered for a long time so the best man wants to do a great job.

Wedding toasts can be humorous or very serious. These special speeches can be eloquent or simply from the heart. The wedding toasts are as different as the people who present them. Those in charge of these speeches usually get all the attention for a few special moments. The speakers often express the feelings of all the friends and family gathered. Everyone wants the bride and groom to have many years of happiness and those making wedding toasts express these sentiments.
