The war between Sony and Microsoft has come to a head with the release of both conglomerates' newest gaming consoles. The Playstation 3 promises to offer the best graphics of all the gaming consoles released today. Plus, the Playstation 3 offers the new Blu Ray DVD reader, which is the latest video technology. The Xbox 360, however, is no joke, either. The Xbox 360 is ultimately a computer that's designed for gaming but you can do much more with it. Head to head, both consoles are great buys. However, when you pit the Playstation 3 vs. the Xbox 360, it's going to be the price of the consoles that will ultimately determine who wins in this battle over the consumer market.

Outrageous Prices

The Playstation 3 vs. the Xbox 360 is all going to come down to how much someone is willing to pay for the ultimate gaming experience. The Playstation 3, for instance, costs about six hundred dollars, whereas the Xbox 360 only costs around three hundred. You can do almost as much with the Xbox 360 as you can with the Playstation 3 and you don't have to shell out the extra money. To top it off, only a select number of Playstation 3's were delivered to the US, which caused people to fight over them. They were then offered on Ebay recently, and probably still are, for more than a thousand a piece. That makes the Playstation 3 very much in demand, which would seem that it wins when you pit the Playstation 3 vs. the Xbox 360. However, it may just be that the Playstation 3 is so hard to come by as to why it's so expensive, not because it's the better console.

Time Will Tell

Rumors have it that game developers haven't even come close to harnessing the full processing power of the Playstation 3. That means that, pretty soon, the Playstation 3 could far surpass anything the Xbox 360 can do. However, because the Xbox 360 is like a computer, it essentially is a computer, it can be upgraded and more. That makes it, too, unpredictable as to what it can offer in the future. So, time will only tell what the outcome will be from the Playstation 3 vs. the Xbox 360 will win in the consumer market war. One thing's for sure, testing for yourself which console wins between the Playstation 3 vs. the Xbox 360 will be the most fun you've ever had.
