Two Versions of the Xbox360 Console
By Tony Cunningham
Microsoft has won half the battle of the gaming consoles by catering to the price conscious buyer and, has created two versions of the Xbox360 console in order to lure customers. The under $600 Xbox360 console distinguishes itself with a signature metallic detailing on the console as well as has a 20Gb hard drive and, a wireless controller as well as a spare faceplate plus, a headset, a HD-AV cable and Xbox Live Silver membership, albeit for a limited period of time. Finally, it has a Media remote that rounds off this high-end Xbox360 console.
Go for the High-End Version
The cheaper version comes with an Xbox360 Core System and a standard wired controller, faceplate as well as standard AV cable. The low price may tempt one into choosing it but, one may be better off with the more expensive version. To get the maximum from your console, you would need an additional hard drive that is not available with the cheaper version and, in spite of backward compatibility; the high-end version also provides the necessary hard disk capacity to play the 200 titles such as Halo.
The console is also rather large as compared with the diminutive PlayStation's and the Xbox360's sleekly designed as well as interchangeable faceplates allow it to be fitted into a home cinema rack beneath the TV. The wireless controller is a real delight and, gamers would find it wonderfully convenient and, with four wireless controller supports, it is indeed a major plus for this console.
It also has amazing graphics and all of the games are optimized as well as have High Definition output. In addition, it has USB 2.0 ports for attaching accessories. The Xbox360 console is also HD ready for games and, also offers Dolby Digital surround sound to give players a complete gaming experience. The console will play on any television and represent a big leap forward in evolving technology.
For users of Windows Media Center, it is possible to connect the console with an Ethernet cable to make it a Media Center Extender and, it allows the user to stream content from a PC to the console and, watch it on the television. The Xbox360 console really promotes the concept of a digital hub which enables it to play audio CDs as well as DVDs and, can be the center piece of a home entertainment system.
